Filmmaker Gunasekhar’s highly anticipated period-drama, Rudhramadevi is slated to release world-wide on June 26. The director says although the film is the story of the warrior queen of Kakatiya dynasty, it’s not entirely a war film.
Talking to Silverscreen, Gunasekhar said, “It should not be confused as a war film. There’s ample romance and drama in the movie to appeal to everybody.” Said to be made on a budget of Rs. 70 crore, the film features Anushka Shetty in the titular role. Gunasekhar, while calling the film a visual spectacle, said that movie has recreated – with great difficulty – the era where the Kakatiya dynasty lived in.
National award-winning art director Thota Tharani has worked extensively on the film. The film has music by Illayaraja. Rana and Allu Arjun have essayed important roles along with Catherine Tresa and Nitya Menon.
