Unhappy With The Script, Prathap Pothen Walks Out Of The Dulquer Salmaan Movie

Actor-director Pratap Pothen’s upcoming project with Dulquer Salmaan has been dropped owing to creative differences between the director and Anjali Menon, the film’s scriptwriter. According to a Southlive report, Pratap Pothen decided to walk out of the movie as he was unhappy with the script that Anjali Menon wrote for him.

“Since I am directing a movie after a long gap, the level of expectation from the audience is huge. I have never done a movie for money. I cannot make a film based on a script I am not happy with. Pressuring me to direct a movie based on that script is not acceptable”, Pothen was quoted as saying. He added that he had lost more than a year on this project. “I am not doing Anjengo because I didn’t like the script. I walked out. I will direct only if am going to enjoy the process and no because some genius has written crap [sic],” Pratap wrote on Facebook.

However, later, Pratap Pothen announced that he would produce the movie under his banner, Supriya Productions. Cinematographer Rajeev Menon was expected to be the cinematographer of the film. The film was also said to feature a cameo appearance of Madhavan. Prathap Pothen had also shared some photos from his recce trip to Anjengo in Thiruvananthapuram, for the film.
