Manju Warrier To Make Her Tamil Debut In Dhanush’s ‘Asuran’

Actor Dhanush, today, made interesting announcements about his much anticipated upcoming flick, Asuran, by confirming that shoot for the film begins on the 26th of this month. As a surprise note, he also mentioned that popular Malayalam actress Manju Warrier will be playing the female lead. Now this move has raised the expectations from the film even more among fans.

On his official twitter page, actor Dhanush said,

“The evergreen Manju Warrier will be playing the female lead. Excited to share screen space and learn from this amazing talent.”

And also, he confirmed that GV Prakash is the music director for the film. GV Prakash, who is equally excited about this project, tweeted on his official page,

“After the classic Aadukalam, Mayakkamenna, Polladhavan, Visaaranai, and Theri, joining hands for Asuran with Dhanush (4th time), VetriMaaran (4th time), V Creations (second time). Asuran will be #GV71.”

Asuran will be the 71st film for GV Prakash as a music director.

Following the success of their films Pollathavan, Aadukalam and Vada Chennai, Asuran is the fourth film in which director Vetrimaaran and Dhanush are working together.  Kalaipuli S Thanu will be producing the film.

Actress Manju Warrier is currently working with actor Mohanlal in the Malayalam film Lucifer, directed by actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, and another movie titled Jack And Jill. The renowned actress who hails from Kanyakumari, made a comeback in the movie How Old Are You (2014), the original version of actress Jyothika’s 36 Vayadhinile. Since then, she has preferred to do women-centric movies and has also involved herself in social work. She is the core member of Women in Cinema Collective, an initiative which aims for gender equality in the Malayalam film industry.
