Manisha Koirala, who was sensational as Kamal Haasan’s ladylove in Indian (who can forget this song?) and played an interesting role in Mumbai Express, will be sharing screenspace with him again in Thoongavanam. Manisha will reportedly play the role of Kamal’s ex-wife.

An official remake of the 2011 French film, A Sleepless Night, Thoongavanam is a Tamil-Telugu bilingual with the Telugu version titled Cheekati Rajyam. Directed by Kamal’s long-time associate Rajesh, Thoongvanam will be a thriller about events that unfold on a single night. Trisha, the female lead, is a cop in the film.
Actors Prakash Raj and Kishore play integral roles in Thoongavanam which will have tunes composed by Ghibran, and lyrics by Vairamuthu. Sanu Varghese, who impressed Kamal with the Vishwaroopam series, has the camera.
