Life-Size Statue Of Amitabh Bachchan Installed At Kolkata Temple

Amitabh Bachchan’s fans recently took their fandom to another level, by installing a life-size statue of the actor at a temple in Kolkata. This was soon after his film, Sarkar 3‘s release, during which fans (and the statue) dressed up like Subhash Nagre, Bachchan’s character in the film.

The statue was installed by the All Bengal Amitabh Bachchan Fans’ Association and sculpted by Subrata Bose. The installation was a gift from the fans for Amitabh Bachchan’s 75th birthday on October 11. The total cost of this statue is around Rs one lakh, with the installation.

“We have installed the 25-kg statue at a temple dedicated to Bachchan after offering prayers for his film’s success,”ABFA state secretary Sanjay Patodiya told PTI News.

Fans revealed that the statue is a little taller than the actor and was made that way to be more visually appealing. The sculpture designed also wears the same black kurta, glasses and a rudraksha mala around the neck, making it look exactly like Amitabh Bachchan’s Sarkar 3 character.

Bachchan’s recent film – Sarkar 3 – released on May 12. Directed by Ram Gopal Varma, the film was the third part in the Sarkar series, which premiered in 2005. Apart from Bachchan, the film stars Amit Sadh, Yami Gautam, Jackie Shroff, Ronit Roy, and Manoj Bajpayee.
