Ko-2 Will Be As Engaging As Ko, Says Director

There has been quite a buzz about Ko-2, the sequel to Ko, a 2011 blockbuster directed by KV Anand. The title logo of the film was released yesterday and the first look will be released this week.

We spoke to the debut director Sarath Mandava, who earlier worked in films like Unnaipol Oruvan and Billa-2. Sarath has penned the story and screenplay of KO-2.

Sarath stated that the Ko-2 will be a political thriller like Ko, but with a completely different storyline. The films will be as different as ‘apple and orange’, he said.

The lead pair Bobby Simhaa and Nikki Galrani will play media persons in Ko-2, and Prakash Raj will essay a crucial role.

Sarath admitted that he was well-aware of the pressure on him,which he described as a ‘double-edged sword’. It could have favourable and unfavourable consequences, he said. Ko is a hugely popular flick and the audience will be eager to see how Ko-2 turns out to be, he said.

Sarath said he was confident that the audience would find this film as engaging and enjoyable as the first installment.

Almost 30% of shoot is complete and the rest of the portions are being shot in locations in and around Chennai.

Leon James has scored music composer and Ruben has done the editing part. Interestingly, all scenes are being shot with two cameras. The film has two cinematographers – Philip R Sundar and Venkat. Elred Kumar of RS Infotainment is funding Ko-2.
