According to a report by Maalai Malar, talks are on to rope in the actor for the role of goddess Sita in the film. It is also said that actor Priyamani might have been roped in to play an important role in the film. However, there is no confirmation regarding this from the film’s makers or the actors.

In Telugu, Keerthy Suresh was last seen in the multilingual film Mahanati, a biopic on the legendary actor Savitri. Her role as Savitri won her critical acclaim. But despite her big success in Tollywood with Mahanati, Keerthy did not sign up any new project in the industry. This led to a speculation that she might be waiting for a call from SS Rajamouli for RRR.

RRR is a multi-starrer that has Ram Charan Teja and Junior NTR playing lead roles. The film was announced last year and its shoot began on November 18, as revealed by the filmmakers. Some say that the film is based on Ramayana, with Ram Charan as Rama and Jr NTR as Ravanan.

The movie, made on a rumoured budget of Rs 300 crores, is being produced by DVV Danayya who was quoted in an Indian Express report saying, “There are already great expectations from the film with the Nandamuri fans, Mega fans and all moviegoers are expecting something out of the ordinary. I promise I will make sure no stone is left un-turned from my side in that regard.”

KK Senthil Kumar is the cinematographer, Sabu Cyril is the art director, and MM Keeravani is the music composer. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao, who regularly collaborates with the director, is the editor for the movie. The director’s father, Vijayendra Rao, is the screenwriter.

Keerthy Suresh will next be seen in Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, a historical drama on the life of Kunjali Marakkar, a Muslim naval chief (of the Zamorin), alongside Mohanlal, directed by Priyadarshan.
