Kaththi will see Vijay essaying dual roles – as that of Kathiresan, fondly called Kaththi and Jeevanandham. While one is a ‘common man’, the other Vijay is a ‘little special’, said AR Murugadoss in a recent interview. “Kaththi will be a cut above the rest. I am always told that Ramana is my greatest achievement, but Kaththi will surpass even that.”
Meanwhile, the film’s promotions have begun in earnest. Thameen, who will be releasing the film in Kerala, has come out with an innovative way to publicise the movie’s release. Colourful posters of Kaththi decorate an entire bogey of the Parasuram express, bound for Karnataka.
There is still no clarity on whether the film will hit screens in Tamil Nadu, as negotiations with pro-Tamil groups have derailed. A decision is expected by the end of today, following which ticket reservations will begin.
