John Vijay Is A Quirky Villain In Vikram Vedha

John Vijay will play a quirky  villain in the upcoming film, Vikram Vedha. “This role will also be that of a colourful bad guy, like what Pushkar and Gayatri have given me so far. I will be seen in three different looks in the film, in this role,” said the actor to Deccan Chronicle.

The film is set in north Madras and the story takes place in three stages. “I play a very local north Madras guy. So, I will be seen in a galeej (dirty) look in one segment. The character then becomes a formidable rowdy, and later, he will be a more hip gangster,” says John Vijay.
The looks will be finalised by the director duo Pushkar – Gayathri, who are currently busy with the filming.

Vikram Vedha has Vijay Sethupathi, Madhavan in titular roles, and was announced last year. The film will be loosely based on the heroic feats of King Vikramaditya, according to a Hindustan Times report. “Of course, the film has incorporated contemporary nuances while retaining the spirit of Vikramaditya’s valour that saw him defeat the evil spirit,” he said.

Vikram Vedha will be Pushkar- Gayatri’s third movie. Their first film, Oram Po (2007) took a comic look at an autorickshaw driver’s efforts to take part in a race. Their second work, Va Quarter Cutting (2010) describes the travails of a man, all set to leave for Saudi Arabia, who wants to live it up in Chennai, drinking and making merry before he flies off to a land of “no fun”.
