Jiiva-Arulnithi’s Next Titled ‘Kalathil Santhippom’

Actors Jiiva and Arulnithi’s upcoming film has been titled Kalathil Sandhippom. Directed by newcomer Rajasekar, the film also stars Manjima Mohan and Priya Bhavani Shankar in the lead.

The first-look was released by Dhanush yesterday. Jiiva and Arulnithi are seen in the sports jersey of two different teams, with the background of a kabbadi ground.

The film was shot in and around Chennai, Thenkasi and Karaikudi, and sources say it is currently in post-production stages. Release announcements can be expected soon.

The film is said to be a complete entertainer revolving around friendship, with action scenes, comedy and love. Manjima Mohan stars as Jiiva’s lover and Priya Bhavani Shankar is Arulnithi’s. Robo Shankar, Bala Saravanan, Aadukalam Naren and Renuka play supporting roles. Music is by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film is produced by RB Choudary for Super Good Films, and is their 90th production venture.

Meanwhile, Jiiva, who was last seen in Gorilla, is awaiting the release of Gypsy. Written and directed by Raju Murugan, who made Joker and Cukkoo, the film is about a road trip, and stars Natasha Singh as the female lead, and Sunny Wayne, Lal Jose and Susheela Raman in important roles. He also has the Hindi film 83, and Rathina Siva’s Seeru in the pipeline.

Arulnithi was last seen in the thriller K13, and has an untitled film with director Seenu Ramasamy. Reports say that he plays a cop in this film, starring Anjali as the female lead. The actor has also signed up for other films which are yet to be officially announced.

Priya Bhavani Shankar has a number of movies including the multi-starrer Kasada Thapara, Vaan and Kuruthi Aattam. She is reportedly part of Indru Netru Naalai 2, the sequel of the 2015 film, starring Vishnu Vishal and Karunakaran, and may be seen in Vikram 58.

Manjima Mohan has Zam Zam in Malayalam, Vattam with Sibi Sathyaraj, Athulya Ravi and Andrea Jeremiah, and FIR co-starring Vishnu Vishal under production.
