Jagapathi Babu Begins Shooting For Puli Murugan, Highest Paid Outside Actor

Telugu actor Jagapathi Babu, who is making his Malayalam debut with Mohanlal’s Puli Murugan, began shooting for the film yesterday. The actor is likely to play the role of the antagonist, or an equally important character. Reportedly, the actor was paid Rs.70 lakh to be a part of the project, the highest an actor from another industry has been paid in Malayalam cinema. The film is scheduled to release next year. Jagapathi Babu has become a much sought after supporting actor after projects like Naanaku Prematho and Selvaraghavan’s Kaan. Jagapathi Babu played a RAW (Research & Analysis Wing) agent in Kaan, which is aiming to release in sixteen languages, including French, Spanish and Portugese.
