Is Tamil Cinema Getting One More Superhero? Sivakarthikeyan’s ‘Hero’ First Look Out Now

Sivakarthikeyan At The 'Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja' Success Meet

The first-look poster of director PS Mithran’s next, starring Sivakarthikeyan and debutant Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead roles is out. The film titled Hero is an action-thriller similar to the director’s previous Irumbuthirai starring actor Vishal.

The poster features a low-angle shot of Sivakarthikeyan wearing an olive green shirt, looking sternly into the camera whilst holding a mask. Speculations are rife that he will be playing a superhero in this film.

The film stars Arjun Sarja and Abhay Deol in negative roles, with Abhay making his debut in Kollywood. He recently took to Instagram to share how grateful he felt.

Naachiyar fame Ivana is also said to be playing a crucial role in the film. The Yuvan Shankar Raja musical has George C Williams as cinematographer and Ruben on edit. KJR studios, which previously produced the Nayanthara starrer Airaa, is producing this film. The movie is set to release on December 20.

Recently, there was a squabble over the title Hero between Tribal Arts and KJR studios with each claiming they had rights over it (the other movie with the same title is a sports film starring Vijay Deverakonda.)

Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan’s Namma Veetu Pillai had its audio launch on August 31 at a popular engineering college in Chennai. Namma Veetu Pillai produced by Sun Pictures also stars Aishwarya Rajesh, Anu Emmanuel, Samuthrakani, Soori, Yogi Babu and others.

Kalyani Priyadarshan also has Dulquer Salmaan-starrer Vaan (Tamil), Sharwanand’s Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham (Malayalam) and another untitled Malayalam movie with Dulquer Salmaan in her kitty.
