The upcoming Tamil film Iru Mugan starring Vikram, is likely to be released in September, sources say. The film was slated to release on August but is now aiming for a Bakrid release in September.

According to a News Minute report, the project will be complete after shooting a couple of songs and the completion of the dubbing works. However, amid news regarding the film’s release, director of the film Anand Shankar told Silverscreen that nothing has been made official from their side. “We recently announced the film’s audio and teaser date but haven’t said anything about its release. Will let you know if there has been a change,” he said. The teaser of the song ‘Halena’ from the film will officially release on 16 July.

Meanwhile, Iru Mugan with its genre being a combination of action, thriller, and some science fiction, is expected to be one of the biggest releases of the year. The film had faced a few delays in the past with actors, producers, and composers dropping out of the project. Nayanthara and Nithya Menen were finally roped in and the music was composed by Harris Jayaraj. The film is produced by Shibu Thameens.
