INL Party Lodges Complaint Against Uttama Villain

Indian National League, a Muslim organization, has filed a complaint against Kamal Haasan’s Uttama Villain, seeking a stay on the release of the movie. According to a Dinathanthi report, INL leader Thada Raheem stated that Kamal Hassan has been making films that thwart religious beliefs. He added, “Earlier, Kamal tried to hurt the sentiments of Muslims with Vishwaroopam. Now, he is doing the same to hurt Hindus’ feelings with Uttama Villain.” A complaint was lodged with the Police Commissionerate in Chennai yesterday.

Earlier, Vishwa Hindu Parishad and its members filed a petition seeking a ban on the release of Uttama Villain citing similar reasons.
Kamal Haasan, in an interview to Vikatan, said that he wouldn’t edit the movie after the Censor Board certification. The song, Iraniyan Nadagam, has been written only based on the literary works of Kambar, it wouldn’t hurt anyone, he added.

Uttama Villain, helmed by director Ramesh Aravind, features Kamal Hassan, Pooja Kumar and Andrea Jeremiah in the lead roles. Composer Ghibran has scored the music for the movie, for which Shyam Dutt has cranked the camera.
