Speaking to Silverscreen, director Prithvi Adithya says, “It’s a sports film, but has an emotional premise which also highlights an interesting relationship between a husband and wife. I felt we needed music to bring life to these sequences, and asked my producer if we can approach Ilaiyaraaja sir. I was very fortunate that he immediately agreed.”
He says, “When we met Ilaiyaraaja sir, I was nervous. He’s such a big name. He has worked on over a thousand films. But he was so welcoming and his positivity encouraged me. I felt that he liked the script when I narrated it, he agreed to be on board.”
The film has five songs, including the title song and two motivational ones. Aadhi plays a sprinter in the film, who is married to Aakansha Singh, a hockey player. “The story is based on athletics, and looks at the nuances in sports, the politics involved, and also looks at what really is sports and who one ultimately competes against.”
Prithvi has been preparing for the film for over a year and also underwent sports training. Aadhi and Aakansha Singh are training for their parts. Nasser plays the antagonist, Krishna Kurup is an athlete and Mime Gopi, Munishkanth and Prakash Raj have important roles.
