Harish Kalyan, who has been busy with films since his participation in Bigg Boss Tamil, has signed his next film with debut director Sanjay Bharathy.
Sanjay Bharathy is the son of veteran actor and director Santhana Bharathy, who has made hits like Guna, Mahanathi etc. His first film is said to be a rom-com based on astrology, featuring Harish Kalyan in the lead with two heroines. The director is currently busy deciding the cast.
Talking about the film, Sanjay told Deccan Chronicle, “The film has a new genre and I call it astro-comedy. It is a youthful family entertainer and I wanted a fresh face with a boy-next-door look. Harish fit perfectly. I have made the script with my observation of people and incidents that took place around me. So, you will definitely relate with at least one character in the film.”
He is yet to zero in on the other cast and crew members, and will likely make an announce in a week’s time. Produced by Gokulam Gopalan under the Sree Gokulam Movie banner, the untitled film will go on floors in the first week of March.

On the work front, Harish Kalyan is busy with Ispade Rajavum Idhaya Raniyum directed by Ranjit Jeyakodi of Puriyatha Pudhir fame. The film stars Shilpa Manjunath, who recently debuted as the female lead in the Vijay Antony-starrer Kaali. Ma Ka Pa Anand and Bala Saravanan play supporting roles.
The movie is produced by Madhav Media, who had earlier bankrolled the horror-thriller Zero. With music is by Sam CS, the film has a song titled Kannamma sung by Anirudh Ravichander, and another one titled Yei Kadavule sung by Harish Kalyan himself. Vijay Sethupathi has done a special monologue for this song. Lyrics are by Ranjith Jeyakodi.
