The teaser of the film Watchman, directed by AL Vijay and starring actor- composer GV Prakash Kumar in the lead, was unveiled recently.
The teaser features some gunfight and chase sequences, and the movie is touted to be a mystical crime thriller. Produced by Arun Mozhi Manickam under the banner Double Meaning Pictures Productions, it is said that a dog – which is seen in every single frame – is also a lead in the film. The 50-second teaser shows actor GV Prakash Kumar dodging baddies – and the dog – during a chase at night. Other than this scene, there aren’t other revealing plot details.
The music for the film is composed by GV Prakash, and it also stars Suman, Raj Arjun, Nirav Shah and others. Cinematography has been handled by Nirav Shah and Saravanan Ramasamy while Anthony has taken care of the editing. Arunraja Kamaraj has written the lyrics. While reports suggest that the film has no female lead, there has been no confirmation from the team yet. The film is expected to release during Pongal 2019.
GV Prakash has earlier worked with AL Vijay as composer for films including Madarasapattinam, Deiva Thirumagal, Thalaiva and Thaandavam. However, this is the first time that he has been roped in as an actor for an AL Vijay project.
