A certain portion of the song has the lyrics,  ‘Quota la seat vaangi doctoraagaran ; Thappu Thappa oosi potu saavadikaran (They buy MBBS seats through special quota ; they kill patients by prescribing wrong medicines). Vijay Antony, in a press release, defended himself that the line was aimed at doctors who lack academic knowledge. As a damage control measure, the song’s makers have, now, decided to replace the word ‘quota’ with ‘bribe’.

The song is written by lyricist Logan, and composed by Vijay Antony. It begins with the line ‘Paazhapona ulagathila kaasu panam perusu (In this world, money has bigger influence). On Twitter, a person pointed out:

In the press statement, Vijay Antony said that none of the people behind the song meant to hurt the sentiments of people from backward castes. “Even lyricist Logan and singer Velmurugan hail from backward communities. The lyrics of this song should be read properly before the allegations are made”, Vijay Antony said. “People failed to understand the core idea of this song. The Glamour song is centered about the wrong doings happening in the society”, he added.

Directed by Sasi and produced by Vijay Antony Film Corporation, Pitchaikkaran has Vijay Antony and Satna Titus in the lead roles.
