Gautham Menon will be seen in a pivotal role in Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming movie Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithal. Incidentally, the director had shared the first look poster of the movie.
Directed by Desingh Periyaswamy, Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithal features Dulquer Salmaan and Rithu Varma in the lead. The director has now confirmed reports about Gautham Menon’s participation in the project.
Talking to ToI, Periyaswamy said “Gautham Menon is playing an extremely important role. I’d been texting sir for about a year and a half. I really wanted to cast him because I felt he’d be apt for the role. At one point, I’d given up hope. But one day he sent me a text asking me to meet him. Our meeting lasted for a little over 15 minutes. We spoke about a lot of things except the story. However, towards the end, he said he will do the film.”
After having made cameo appearances in his own movies, the director made his acting debut last year through Goli Soda 2. There had been rumours about the director being approached for the antagonist’s role in Nayanthara’s Imaikaa Nodigal. The role eventually went to Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap.
He is also rumoured to be appearing in Fahadh Faasil’s upcoming Malayalam movie Trance.

Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithal marks Dulquer Salman’s 25th film. The director added that the movie is currently in the post-production stage. “We are done with the editing and dubbing for the movie. There’s day’s shoot left which will happen in Chennai.” “It’s a commercial romantic film. Dulquer plays an IT professional,” says the debutant director about the movie.
The title of the movie is inspired by the song from Mani Ratnam’s movie Thiruda Thiruda. D. Imman composes music for the movie which has been produced by Francis Kannookadan.
Dulquer Salmaan last Tamil release was Nadigayar Thilagam while Ritu Varma acted opposite Dhanush in VIP 2.
