First Look Posters Of Varalaxmi Sarathkumar’s ‘Danny’ Unveiled

The first look posters of actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar’s Danny was unveiled today, on her birthday. The film is directed by Santhanamoorthy, and is said to be have a woman-centric subject.

The posters, unveiled by actor Jayam Ravi, shows the actress as a cop in the film. In one of them, Varalaxmi is holding a pistol and aiming at someone, and in other she is seen in mufti, holding a dog at what looks like a market place in the background.

As it was reported earlier, the film will revolve around the bond between animals and humans. It is speculated that the dog might help her solve a crime scene.

Meanwhile, as a double celebration on her birthday, the actress was titled ‘Makkal Selvi’ by the film’s team for being socially responsible and helping people with her Save Shakthi initiative. In 2016, Vijay Sethupathi was given the ‘Makkal Selvan’ title by his mentor Seenu Ramasamy who directed him in Dharma Durai.

Produced by PG Muthiah and M Deepa for the banner Blueberry Pictures, the film features Vela Ramamoorthy, Yogi Babu, Saravanan Sakthi and Anitha Sampath in pivotal roles. Music for the film is composed by Santhosh Dayanidhi, cinematography is handled by Aanand Kumar, editing by S N Fazil and art work by Dinesh.

Other films that featured animals in important roles include the Sibiraj-starrer Naaigal Jaakirathai, and the Pa Ranjith production and Mari Selvaraj directorial Pariyerum Perumal. The upcoming films Gypsy and Gorilla will feature a horse and gorilla respectively. Interestingly, both films star Jiiva in the lead.

Varalaxmi’s next projects include Kanni Rasi, a comedy drama by Muthukumaran, Velvet Nagaram, a women-centric psychological thriller directed by Manoj Kumar, Ammayi by G Shankar, Madha Gaja Raja with Vishal directed by Sundar C, and Neeya 2 by Suresh L. She also has a film with director JK in which she plays the role of a blind person for the first time. The film is expected to be a thriller.
