Director Rambhala’s ‘Daavu’ In Final Stages Of Shoot

After the success of Dhilluku Dhuddu 2, director Rambhala is back at work with his next film Daavu which is in the final stage of shooting. The film stars actor Chandramouli and actress Reba Monica John in the lead.

It is said to be horror-romantic-comedy, and will be ready for a summer 2019 release. Director Rambhala become a household name when he directed the TV show Lollu Sabha that aired between 2004 and 2007. The show was a huge hit as it made spoof versions of famous Tamil movies like Nattamai, Ghilli and Alaippayuthey. Actor Santhanam become popular through this show.

Director Rambhala made his Kollywood entry with Dhillukku Dhuddu in 2016, starring Santhanam and Anchal Singh. This horror comedy was well received by the audience and became a commercial hit. Earlier in an interview, the director said he had approached many actors with the script but nobody came forward. When he approached Santhanam, he was shooting for the movie Inime Ippdithaan. But he is decided to do the role.

Following the release of the movie, director Rambhala and Santhanam joined hands for the sequel Dhillukku Dhuddu 2. Produced under the banner of Santhanam’s production house Handmade Films, DD2 starred Shritha Sivadas as the female lead and Mottai Rajendran in the supporting role. The first-look released in October 2018 and the film received positive reviews.

Meanwhile, Daavu, which started in November 2017, is now nearing completion. The movie also stars Manobala, Livingston, Urvashi and Munishkanth. Chandramouli was last seen in the movie Rubaai in 2017 and he didn’t have any release in 2018. He is currently working on Party directed by Venkat Prabhu, and Thittam Poattu Thirudura Kootam directed by Sudhar.

Reba Monica John made her Tamil debut with Jarugandi starring opposite actor Jai. She is currently working on two untitled films.
