Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru will be remade in Hindi as well as Telugu. According to a report in Deccan Chronicle , “Talks are on with a leading star, who’s very keen to reprise the role in Telugu. An official announcement will be made soon after the nitty-gritties are discussed.
Salman Khan has also reportedly expressed interest in remaking the film in Hindi.

Director Karthik Naren will not direct the Telugu or the Hindi remake. He wrote on his Facebook page, “Talks are on for remaking #D16 in Telugu with one of the top stars of Tollywood. For a creator, it is not healthy to work on the same script & screenplay again because the magic may get lost. So I am not gonna retain the director’s chair for the remake. Will make an official announcement after things go on paper. Kerala release plan is on as well & it may hit the screens anytime.”
