report by Times of India quotes Durai Senthilkumar saying that Pattas is the name of the younger Dhanush in the film. The story revolves around a martial art form, and Dhanush and Sneha underwent training for their roles. “This is a martial art form present even before Kalari… something that the Cholas practised. It is a commercial and emotional film. Dhanush took some training for the role before we started the project. He spent around 15-20 days on training, and Sneha too attended it.”

The shooting for the film is currently on in Chennai, with around 35 days left for wrap up.

Dhanush plays a father and son in the film, and it is his second dual role in a Durai Senthilkumar film after Kodi. The portion with Dhanush as father features Sneha as the female lead. They were last seen together onscreen in Selvaraghavan’s Pudhupettai 13 years ago. Telugu actress Mehreen Pirzada plays Dhanush’s partner in the son’s portions.
