Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, the National Award winning Malayalam movie was a joint production by Anish M Thomas and Sandip Senan under the banner of Urvashi Theatres. The team is coming together for their next venture Dakini, directed by Rahul Riji Nair who made the Kerala State Award-winning movie Ottamuri Velicham.
Sandip Senan took to Facebook to announce their second venture. This time Urvashi Theatres joins hands with B Rakesh of Universal Cinema to produce the movie, while actor-producer Vijay Babu and his production company Friday Films will be the distributors of the film.
The title of the movie is inspired from the Malayalam comic character of the same name, who is an evil-yet-funny witch who tries to capture the little devil Mayavi, from the comic strip Mayavi.
Dakini features a long list of actors – Suraj Venjaramoodu, Chemban Vinod Jose, Alencier Ley, Indrans are a part of the cast list. The film also features actresses Balussery Sarasa and Sreelatha Sreedharan, who became the audience favourite with their performances in the sleeper hit Sudani From Nigeria. Pauly Valsan and Sethulakshmi are also a part of the cast. Rahul Raj will be the music composer of the film.
The shoot of the film will start in July.
