Confessions and Surprises: Vaa Audio Launch Report

The audio launch of director Rathnasiva’s directorial debut, Vaa was star-studded. Directors SP Jhananathan and Gautham Menon released the audio album and director Lingusamy received the audio CD. Directors Panner Selvam and A Venkatesh, along with the cast of the film, were present at the event which saw a number of surprises.

Rathnasiva, who was visibly emotional, remembered the time when he struggled hard to enter and make a mark in the industry. He said that he’d initially tried to be an assistant director to Lingusamy. “Later, I joined as an assistant to Paneer Selvam, former associate of director Lingusamy,” he said.

The debut director’s recollections about his days with Paneer Selvam livened up the event. Selvam, along with his gang, used to get high on drinks at night and discuss the happenings of the day, revealed Rathnasiva. This was followed by more revelations. Arun Vijay’s father-in-law disclosed some more ‘drinks jokes’ about director A Venkatesh.

The highlight, though, was the surprise announcement made by director Gautham Vasudev Menon and actor Arun Vijay about their film together.

Actor Arun Vijay said that Vaa will showcase him as the mass commercial hero that he is. After playing a villain role in Yennai Arindhaal, he looked glad and excited to be back to the commercial hero turf. “I am back in form with dancing and I have taken some extra efforts while performing the stunt sequences of Vaa,” he said.

Vaa, which has music scored by S Thaman, features Arun Vijay and Karthika Nair in the lead while actors Sathish, Vamsi Krishna, Jayaprakash, Renuka and choreographer Kalyan will be seen in supporting roles.
