Speaking about the action in Commando 3, the actor earlier told Mumbai Mirror, “The Commando franchise is all about action, so the aim has been to introduce something new with every film. In the first installment, we incorporated one form of ‘Kalaripayattu’ in the stunts, while for the second one, I hit the gym to bulk up. Since the film revolved around black money, it was essential to get rid of my lean frame. I wasn’t particularly a fan of beefy bodies, but I trained hard to acquire the look for the film. Commando 3 required another form of ‘Kalaripayattu’ for which I had to return to my lean frame and reacquaint my body with flexibility, which was compromised while bulking up.”

The first installment, Commando: A One Man Army directed by Dilip Ghosh featured Vidyut Jamwal, Pooja Chopra and Jaideep Ahlawat in lead roles. It was a moderate success at the box office. Meanwhile, Commando 2: The Black Money Trail directed by Deven Bhojani fared well at the box office. It featured Vidyut Jammwal and Adah Sharma as the lead pair. The third installment reportedly has a lot more action than its prequels and also deals with socially relevant topics.

Commando 3 wrapped up shooting in mid-June. It was all set for a September 6th release but has now been postponed to 29 November 2019.

Meanwhile, speculations are rife that Vidyut is a part of Shankar’s Indian 2 starring Kamal Hassan and Kajal Aggarwal. The Junglee star also mentioned recently that the plot for Commando 4 was ready and work would start if the third installment fares well at the box office.
