Chirag Jani To Play Suriya’s Friend In KV Anand’s Film

Director KV Anand, who is currently shooting in London for Suriya 37, has announced that Bollywood actor Chirag Jani is also a part of the project.

The director posted on Twitter that Chirag will be playing an important role in the film.

Talking about his role to the The Times Of India Chirag explained that he would play Suriya’s friend in the film, and also that he’s learning the language and would dub for himself. It is said that Chirag’s role was the one that was earlier offered to Allu Sirish, who turned it down citing date issues.

Bankrolled by Lyca Productions, the project went on the floors on June 25 in London. Starring Sayyeshaa, Arya, Mohanlal, Boman Irani and Samuthirakani in pivotal roles, this films marks the third collaboration of Suriya and Anand. Their previous films were Ayaan and Maattraan. Harris Jayaraj composes music.

According to a report in The News Minute, the film will be shot in nearly ten different countries and the crew has already zeroed in on some picturesque spots in New York, Brazil, England, Hyderabad and New Delhi. Said to be an action-thriller based on the first look poster, the film is expected to wrap up shoot by the end of this year.

Suriya 37, written by Pattukottai Prabhakar, is said to be the actor’s most expensive project yet. Apart from this film, he also stars in the Selvaraghavan movie, NGK, a political drama that sees him share screen-space with Rakul Preet Singh. Some of KV Anand’s earlier projects include Anegan, a 2015 film that starred Dhanush and Amyra Dastur and Kavan, which featured Vijay Sethupathi and Madonna Sebastian in the lead.

Chirag Jani, meanwhile, is a part of Porus, a historical drama series in which he plays Arunayak, the king of Dasyu Raj. The show, based on the Battle of Hydaspes, airs on Sony TV.
