Bobby Simha Denies Being A Part Of Ajith’s Next

A number of speculations have been made ever since the announcement of actor Ajith’s next film AK57 (or Thala57) with Sathya Jyothi Films. It was recently reported that National Award-winning actor Bobby Simha of Jigarthanda (2014) fame will be playing the villain in the film.

It was claimed that Bobby Simha was in talks with the director over playing the villain in the film, after actors such as Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swamy, Arjun, and Prasanna were approached. However, when asked about the film, Simha refuted the news. “These reports are false. I don’t know where they emerge from,” he told Silverscreen, clarifying that he is not part of the film.

Earlier, there was a similar air of speculation when it came to the lead female role, with some reports suggesting that it was Kajal Aggarwal. It was eventually confirmed that Sai Pallavi of Premam (2015) fame was first approached but she couldn’t commit to the film as she already had a Telugu project in hand. It was later confirmed that Kajal Aggarwal is the official female lead. The film, directed by Siva of Siruthai (2011) and Vedhalam (2015) fame, has already begun shooting in Slovenia.

The film marks the third time that director Siva, cinematographer Vetri Palanisamy, and Ajith are collaborating, having worked in Veeram (2014) and Vedhalam (2015) together.

Meanwhile, Bobby Simha has a number of projects in the pipeline for the near future. He will be seen in multiple get-ups in his upcoming film Vallavanukku Vallavan. He is also co-producing the film with Sri Thenandal Films. His production company is called ‘Assault Productions’ – a tribute to his character’s name in Jigarthanda ‘Assault Sethu’. Another film in the pipeline for Bobby, is Paambhu Sattai where he will star opposite Keerthy Suresh.
