Ayushmann Khurrana Starrer ‘Bala’ In The Midst Of A Plagiarism Row; Dr Zeus Slams Makers On Twitter

Bala in which Ayushmann Khurrana plays a young, bald man facing problems because of his receding hairline was recently embroiled in a controversy because the director of another film on the same theme, Ujda Chaman Abhsihek Pathak attacked the makers of Bala over release dates.

Now Dr Zeus, a British-born Indian music composer-singer and music producer has slammed the makers of Bala for plagiarising his song ‘Dont Be Shy’.

Meanwhile Badshah responded with a message on Twitter as well:

Later Dr Zeus seemed to have accepted Badshah’s explanation though he still slammed Sony over the ‘last minute credit’.

While Bala directed by Amar Kaushik is set to release on November 7, Ujda Chaman which is the official remake of Raj B Shetty’s Kannada film Ondu Motteya Kathe (2017) is to release on November 8. Abhishek Pathak has claimed that the makers of Bala deliberately moved the date of their release to a day before the release of Ujda Chaman.

“We acquired Ondu Motteya Kathe in the last quarter of 2018, with a clear intention to release my version within a year. My team suggested November 8 for release and our campaign commenced. In contrast, the Bala team has been changing their release date, from November 22 to November 15 to November 7, which is a day before my film. Not sure how this will help, I think it harms both films and the industry at large,” he said in an interview to Mumbai Mirror. Earlier, comedian Vinay Sharma also accused the makers of Ujda Chaman of lifting two of his jokes. “Been getting messages since yesterday. Writers of Ujda Chaman have simply lifted 2 of my jokes without permission/credits. I wonder what precedence it sets for Bollywood. Just disappointing and sad,” he tweeted.
