Arjun Kapoor and Sidharth Malhotra will most likely star in the Hindi remake of Tamil superhit Thani Oruvan. The remake will be directed by Sabbir Khan.
Indian Express reports that Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor were originally approached to play the characters essayed by Jayam Ravi and Arvind Swami in the Tamil film. Later, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra were slated to play the roles. But now, it looks like Sidharth Malhotra and Arjun Kapoor will come together for the remake.
Thani Oruvan was director Mohan Raja’s breakout film, and was successful at the box office. Till then, Mohan Raja was known for making competent remakes; this film saw him writing and directing an all-new plot. The film was remade in Telugu as Dhruva, and there are talks of a Bengali remake too.
Sabbir Khan, who will likely direct the Hindi version, is currently working on Munna Michael, with Tiger Shroff. His last two films, Heropanti and Baaghi, were also with Tiger Shroff, and remakes of Telugu hits.
Arjun Kapoor is currently working on Mubarakan, along with Ileana D’Cruz, while Sidharth Malhotra is working on It Happened One Night with Sonakshi Sinha.
