AR Rahman, who was on board for Sye Raa – a biopic on the famous freedom fighter from Kurnool starring Chiranjeevi, has reportedly walked out of the project. Reports say that since the project took too long to take off, Rahman quit citing schedule issues.

Speaking to media after attending an event in Hyderabad, Rahman was quoted as saying, “Even though I wanted to work on this project, things didn’t work in my favour as there’s only a certain amount of work one can take up.”

To be directed by Surender Reddy, the film will be bankrolled by Ram Charan. Cinematography is by Ravi Varman, and script by the Paruchuri Brothers. Other cast members include A-listers like Amitabh Bachchan, Kiccha Sudeep, Jagapathy Babu, Nayanthara, and even Vijay Sethupathi.

The project was officially launched on August 16.
