Ananya Panday Joins The Cast Of Puri Jagannadh’s Next With Vijay Deverakonda

Director Puri Jagannadh’s next film, being bankrolled by Karan Johar, will star Ananya Panday alongside Vijay Deverakonda. The director took to Twitter to welcome the actor to the ‘Pan-India’ production.

Ananya said, “Couldn’t be more excited to join a pan – India film. Thank you, for this opportunity! Looking forward to a super fun time on the set.” She thanked Karan Johar, Puri Jagannadh, and welcomed Vijay Deverakonda to Bollywood.

Vijay D in turn said, “And we warmly welcome you to the Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam industries.”

The film tentatively titled Fighter is reportedly about a boxer with a stutter. While Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions is bankrolling the Hindi version, Puri Jagannadh and Charmee Kaur are bankrolling the south Indian versions under their banner Puri Connects.

According to a report in The Newsminute, “…Puri Jagannath is keen on roping in the legendary boxing champion Mike Tyson for a role in the film. The makers of Fighter will be approaching the legendary boxer and it needs to be seen if he will be accepting the offer. Apparently, the lead star idolises the boxing legend following which it was decided to bring him on-board. However, it needs to be seen if Mike Tyson would agree to join the star cast.”

The film is likely to be another of Tollywood’s multilingual films, following Saaho and Sye Raa… Ramya Krishnan will reportedly play Vijay’s mother in the film. Ronit Roy, Vishu Reddy, Aali, Makarand Desh Pandey and Getup Srinu are also part of the cast. Cinematography will be handled by Vishnu Sarma. Kecha who worked in Puri’s Iddarammayilatho is the stunt master for the film. Jonny Shaik Basha is the Art Director and Junaid Siddiqui is the Editor.
