Amitabh Bachchan Hosts Exclusive First Screening Of Pink For Women Veterans Of Indian Cinema

Ahead of Pinks release, actor Amitabh Bachchan hosted an exclusive first screening to a selected few women veterans of the Indian cinema. A source close to the actor told Deccan Chronicle, “His yesteryear co-stars,
such as Waheeda Rehman and Sharmila Tagore, as well as other female luminaries from other fields have been invited for the special preview. This will be a screening unlike any seen before in the industry.”

Following the preview, actress Taapsee, who plays one of the lead characters in the film, tweeted about the overwhelming experience.

Meanwhile, congratulatory messages have already stared flowing in.

Pink is a social thriller directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhary. Set in Delhi, the movie has Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, Krithi Kulhari in the lead roles. In an Indian Express interview, Amitabh Bachchan said, “The movie is not on rape. It is a social thriller and one that touches upon many aspects of what morals and society norms and practices women in our city and in our country go through.”

The movie is about three girls who find themselves caught in a vicious web of malice when a ‘girls night out’ goes awry. The futures of these three girls are at stake with one of them charged with ‘attempt to murder’. The story revolves around the consequences of that one night.

The movie will be released on 16 September.
