A Pigeon Plays Detective In Shivalingaa, Says P Vasu

In Shivalingaa, a pigeon plays detective, according to director P Vasu. The Tamil remake of the Kannada film of the same name has supernatural elements woven into an investigative thriller. Speaking to Silverscreen, P Vasu said: “A character in the film has a pigeon, that is the witness to a brutal murder.”

“The Tamil version is not a direct remake. We have added some local flavour to the film; and with Raghava Lawrence’s reputation as the horror-comedy king, we have added some of those elements as well.”

Ritika Singh plays Raghava Lawrence’s wife in the project, while Lawrence plays a CID officer named Shiva. “In the movie, Ritika has a performance oriented role. She plays a girl who will do anything to get thrilled. She is spontaneous and crazy, while at the same time, she is mature. It is a role with many contrasts, and Ritika has essayed the role very well.”

S Thaman has composed the music. Shakthi Vasu, whose solo career has not flourished, “…has a bigger role in this than he has in the Kannada film. It will showcase his talent.”

The film is currently in the final stages of filming, and will likely release soon.
