It is Trisha Krishnan’s birthday today.
With her model-good looks and girl next door appeal, she has enjoyed great success in her career.
Despite all this, it still pains us to see that Tamil men still haven’t managed to build a temple for the former beauty queen.

In 2001, Trisha Krishnan won the ‘Beautiful Smile’ Award at the Miss India pageant. Soon, she signed on to star in the Priyadarshan movie Lesa Lesa and has never looked back. Since then, she has charmed audiences in film after film, faced challenges and controversies, and continues to win people over.
Hailing from Chennai, Trisha completed her schooling at the prestigious Sacred Heart Matriculation HSS, Church Park. Interestingly, she aspired to become a criminal psychologist and studied BBA at Ethiraj College, Chennai.
Trisha, last seen as an elegant rural woman in Karthik Subbaraj’s Petta, starring Rajinikanth in the lead, began her career in an uncredited role as Simran’s friend in Jodi (1999), directed by Praveen Gandhi. She then accepted her first project as lead in Priyadarshan’s Lesa Lesa, featuring Shyam and Madhavan. However the project faced various delays, and her first appearance in a lead role was in Ameer’s directorial debut Mounam Pesiyadhe, in 2002.
Her movies the bilingual Enakku 20 Unnaku 18 and Lesa Lesa released after this blockbuster, although she worked on them earlier. She also made her debut in Telugu with Nee Manasu Naaku Telusu (the twin of Enakku). She was acclaimed for her performance in Varsham (2004) and won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress in Telugu.
Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Vinnaithandi Vaaruvaya provided her a breakthrough, as her character was unlike anything she had portrayed before. Trisha played Jessie as a woman who knew what she wanted, knew where to push back, where to give up, and arrive at a compromise.
Trisha made her debut in Malayalam with the lyrical Hey Jude, directed by Shyamaprasad, which touched upon the stigma of mental illness, among other things. She was a natural in the film, in a role that was richly layered.
2018’s 96 is, perhaps, Trisha’s most acclaimed role. Wearing a simple yellow kurta, light blue jeans and a blue silk stole, hair in a low ponytail and a tiny bindi on the forehead, Trisha’s Jaanu impressed with her simple, classy look and the expressions she’s so known for. The story of a lost love pepped up her career like no other movie has. Social media raved about the look, and many textile chains have started selling the Jaanu look!
Trisha has acted with almost all the top heroes in the industry. From Ji and Yennai Arindhal with Ajith Kumar, Ghilli and Kuruvi with Vijay, Manmadhan Ambu and Thoongavanam with Kamal Haasan, Mounam Pesiyadhe and Aaru with Suriya, Saamy and Bheema with Vikram, Sarvam with Arya, Kodi with Dhanush, Samar with Vishal Krishna, Endrendrum Punnagai with Jiiva to, finally, Petta with Rajinikanth.
She has also been equally successful in Telugu, and has worked with stars such as Chiranjeevi, Mahesh Babu, Prabhas, Siddharth and Venkatesh. Trisha has a great line up of movies, and looking more gorgeous than ever. She is one of the first actresses to still headline a movie in their thirties. And, for that alone, she deserves it all!
