This Week in Tamil Cinema: March 9, 2015

The best stories from last week. Fun stuff, too. Also, awesome pictures.

From Saving Mount Everest to counting the times Cheran got teary, we did not run short of interesting things last week. Prasath Ramar looked within for an interview;  RS Prasanna talked about the books that inspired him; celebrities stepped out in primary colours since we couldn’t identify white and gold anymore; the stalker-glorifying films in Kollywood were identified; all that furore over India’s Daughter led to this; and we also found five brilliant films to watch on your weekends.

Also, if you were one of those who missed out on Kamal Haasan’s Uttama Villain audio launch, fret not, we’ve got the highlights right here.

With Women’s Day right around the corner, several events were held to…well, celebrate women. As celebrities like

Pooja Kumar, Neha Dhupia and Prachi Desai made an appearance in the city to collect their awards, our photographers were more than happy to be on duty.We always like to finish on a HQ note, and Deepa Sannidhi and Nikki Galrani helped us do just that.

Also, of the films that hit Kollywood screens last weekend, we watched four. Enakkul Oruvan was a decent enough interpretation of Lucia, if not a better version; Thoppi could’ve used better actors and some CV Kumar magicSerndhu Polama…well, let’s just not go there yet; while En Vazhi Thani Vazhi was a RK show through and through – witi sunglasses, stylish coats and some unintentionally funny scenes.
