Tamil Features

This Week in Tamil Cinema: March 2, 2015

In the wake of Oscars 2015 (whose winners, we totally predicted beforehand), we made a feature on Oscar Winning Indians, so that the cheer team back home have a consolation prize. Also, in related Oscar features – we chronicled some bizarre moments from the award ceremony, the Mexican invasion, and of course, a list of foreign language films you should watch over the weekend.

After the ceremony was over, things got a little more serious. The actor Vivekh we met was a changed man and spoke about all things spiritual and also made a few startling confessions. The controversies surrounding intimate pictures of celebrities being leaked on the Internet were explored; stars who were victims of ‘Death by Media‘ catalogued and nine train scenes were listed in honour of the Railway Budget. Our photographers took over our photo roundup and the results were an arresting sight, indeed.

Also, Kakki Sattai finally hit the screens and we found that the funny film had nobler intents up its sleeve. Vajram was disappointing fare as was Ettuthikkum Madhayaanai, which was full of invisible elephants, nobody wanted to acknowledge.

In other news, the trailer of OK Kanmani (or Oh Kadhal Kanmani) was released and made everybody think of Alaipayuthey.
