The crew of the intriguingly titled Tamilukku En Ondrai Aluthavum met the press in the city yesterday to talk about the movie. Asked about the title, director Ram Prakash revealed that a cellphone plays an important role in the plot, which revolves around two leading men and a natural disaster.  The movie stars ‘Attakathi’ Dinesh, Nakul, Bindu Madhavi and debutant Aishwarya in leading roles, with ‘Ethir Neechal’ Sathish, Asif, Urvashi and Manobala rounding out the supporting cast.

Ram Prakash also added that Urvashi, who plays Nakul’s mother in the film, will not be like “the conventional Tamil film mother.”  Speaking at the event, cinematographer Deepak Kumar said that the movie is made to Hollywood standards, and went on to narrate some instances from the shoot. “We used a helicam to film the climax scenes and during one such shoot, a bird knocked off the helicam from about 800 metres in the air. The camera fell straight on a tower and was luckily saved. It was, in fact, rolling all along and we have even incorporated that shot in the film,” he said.

While Bindu Madhavi would be seen playing the role of an employee of a corporate firm in this movie, debutant Aishwarya will be pairing opposite Nakul. “There is an unexpected twist in every situation; special treatment has been accorded to screenplay and we hope it would set a benchmark in Tamil cinema. It includes all commercial aspects of cinema; including romance, suspense and action.”

Music director Thaman has composed three songs for the film; of which one is a promotional number. The songs will be shot in the city; and in and around Singaperumal temple enroute Chengalpet.

The film is likely to be launched towards the end of June or beginning of July.
