Appuchi Gramam has quite an interesting premise. From what we can tell, the movie is a mix of sci-fi and sentiment and follows the people of a village as they come to terms with a meteor shower. Everyone associated with the movie insisted at the press meet that the real hero is the “meteor” or Vinkal as they call it. So much so that a huge replica of a meteor was the main attraction at this event. Interesting light and sound effects made the whole venue seem eerie and captured the mood of the film effectively. Stars vied for space to pose in front of the rock but were thwarted in their attempts by a stray dog and a group of crows which had taken up residence near it. Director Vi Anand, a protege of AR Murugadoss, was a happy man. He said,” it took me ten years of struggle to get here. And now that I’m here, I intend to stay. I gave my heart and soul to this movie and I hope the audience support this unique film!”

Kannada Actress Anusha debuts in this movie. She plays a ‘village belle’ here and credits her director for giving her ample space for performance. “I’m a musician by profession. I have worked in many Kannada movies before but I’ve always wanted to work in Tamil films since all of them have such great music. Our music director Vishal has done a great job on the tracks. I was asked to sing for one song but couldn’t find the time!”
Vishal Chandrasekhar, of Inam fame, has composed the music for Appuchi Gramam. And he’s quite happy with how the songs have shaped up. ” First, I would like to thank everybody for their amazing response to my work in Inam. I have worked as hard for this movie as well and I hope you all like it!”
The soundtrack and trailer of Appuchi Gramam will be launched officially at an event in Sathyam Cinemas tomorrow.
