What’s trending

Veere Di Wedding, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania, has reportedly been banned in Pakistan because of “vulgar dialogues and obscene scenes.”

The story revolves around four friends from well-off families struggling with their own personal love lives. Kalindi (Kareena Kapoor Khan) accepts her boyfriend’s proposal and soon spirals down a path of self-doubt, commitment, and adulting. Throw in her equally commitment-phobic friends who talk about sex, punctuate their sentences with expletives, and generally like to have a good time. The film releases this Friday.

What’s making the news

Prashanth Varma of Awe fame is directing the Telugu remake of Kangana Ranaut’s Queen. The film is titled Queen Once Again and stars Tamannaah Bhatia in the lead role.

She had earlier said, “It’s an exciting project and I love doing roles that talk about women empowerment. I’m confident we can recreate the magic of the original. At the same time, not make our film look like a frame-to-frame remake. We’ll adapt it to suit Telugu sensibilities.”
