The problem with Vellaikara Durai is that the actors try too hard to be funny but the writing does not offer anything new. The song placement act as a huge hurdle for the film’s flow. As the story is old as the hill, the director could have concentrated more on comedy and music but sadly it doesn’t happen.
Overall, it is an average comedy entertainer which might appeal to audience who never expect logic but only mindless comedies
