Actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar’s next Malayalam film is Kaattu, where she plays the female protagonist in the film directed by Arun Kumar Aravind. She will be playing a village girl named ‘Muthulakshmi’.

“It’s a pivotal character and it’s great to work with the talented team,” she told Times of India.
Her next project with Mammootty (after Kasaba) is an untitled one with Ajai Vasudevan directing it. She plays a police commissioner named Bhavani Durga and the shooting is slated to go on floors by the end of this month.
Kaattu, meanwhile, has actors Murali Gopy and Asif Ali in it, with music by Deepak Dev.
