Malayalam film Poomaram, starring Kalidas Jayaram has finally got a release date: March 15. The film has been generating a lot of interest with memes being created ever since the film’s song titled ‘Poomaram’ was released.
The story revolves around the campus life of a teenager. It’s second song ‘Kadavathoru Thonni’ is already a huge hit among college students. Kalidas plays the role of student who is interested in politics but has an artistic bent of mind.

But Kalidas doesn’t mind the memes and the trolls. He told The Times of India that it will only generate interest for the movie. He even shared some of the memes on his official Facebook page.
The film which was shot in different colleges in Kerala has covered the MG University Youth Festival in 2017 as a background for the movie. After getting postponed a few times, it has finally got a release date.
The film will mark the debut of Kalidas Jayaram as a lead actor in Malayalam cinema. The actor has stared next to his father as a child artist in Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal and Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum, for which he won the National Award for Best Child Artist. Kalidas Jayaram also worked in the Tamil film Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum and his also working on Oru Pakka Kathai.
Poomaram will also see actor Kunchacko Boban, Meera Jasmine and Manju Warrier in the supporting cast. The film written, directed and co-produced by Abrid Shine, who previously made hits like 1983 and Action Hero Biju.
