Malayalam Actress Abduction Case: SIT Has ‘Solid’ Evidence Against Dileep

At the bail plea hearing of actor Dileep today, the Special Investigation Team is expected to submit “solid” evidence regarding the actor’s involvement in the abduction and assault of a Malayalam actress. According to a Deccan Chronicle report, the evidence will be handed out to the court later today in a closed envelope.

The SIT has reportedly gotten hold of a witness who claims to have seen Pulsar Suni and Dileep together. All this evidence will be presented to the court today. The SIT hopes that this will be enough to have Dileep’s bail plea quashed by the court.

On August 22, the counsel for Dileep argued that the probe in the case was almost over and that the police had even recovered the memory card containing images of the actress during her abduction. Moreover, the counsel said that Dileep had reason to believe that theatre owner Liberty Basheer and ad filmmaker Sreekumar Menon had some connection with his arrest. The actor alleged that he was being framed by the police and the media for a crime he did not commit.

Following this, the judge postponed the hearing to Wednesday.

At present, Dileep’s remand has been extended till September 2.

Meanwhile, Pulsar Suni has revealed that actor Kavya Madhavan knows him and has even lent him money occasionally. The actress, during an interrogation session with the SIT, had said that she had no knowledge of Suni.

Dileep was arrested by the SIT on July 10. He has been lodged at the Aluva Sub-jail since then.
