The film is an urban thriller and will feature Mamootty in a completely different role. According to reports, Mamootty’s character is more grounded than his recent roles and is ‘a normal person that the audience can relate to’.

Incidentally, a few years after his directorial debut in 2007, Joseph had approached Mammootty for two of his projects – Memories and Drishyam. The roles went to Prithviraj and Mohanlal respectively, at Mammotty’s insistence.

Since his 2007 debut, Jeethu Joseph has made a total of 8 films. Memories, released in 2013, was the director’s third film. It was a box office success, critically acclaimed and was remade in Tamil as Aarathu Sinam. Drishyam, starring Mohanlal, was released in the same year and was regarded as one of his best films. The film won the Kerala State Award for Best Popular Film, and was eventually made into Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi.
