Last year, horror movies made a comeback with films like Ezra (Malayalam), which was produced on a low budget but looked like a Hollywood production, The House Next Door and a few other Hindi movies.

Anushka Shetty’s Bhaagamathie that released in January this year has been garnering good reviews. Here are the other horror movies in the pipeline:

Pari

The teaser of this movie was out a few days back and it had loads of appreciable creepiness. The movie stars Anushka Sharma, who in the trailer is seen chained to a bed. Written and directed by Prosit Roy, it is being produced by Anushka Sharma under her production company Clean Slate Films.

Touted to be a psychological thriller, the film also stars Parambrata Chatterjee, Rajat Kapoor and is slated to release on March 2.

Mohini

After Nayanthara and Andrea Jeremiah, it is now Trisha’s turn to dabble in horror movies. The film titled Mohini is directed by Ramana Madhesh. The soundtrack of the movie is composed by Vivek-Marvin, who worked previously on the horror movie Dora.

Mohini marks Trisha’s third venture in the genre after Aranmanai and Nayagi. Far from her girl-next-door image, Trisha plays a woman whose body dies but not her soul. Apart from Trisha, the film stars Bollywood actor Jackky Bhagnani, Yogi Babu, Suresh, and Poornima Bhagyaraj.

Karu

The supernatural bilingual film will be releasing as Karu in Tamil and Kanam in Telugu on February 9. Written and directed by A.L Vijay, this movie marks actress Sai Pallavi’s entry into Tamil cinema as a leading artist.

Kanchana 3

The third installment of horror-comedy – the Muni series – Kanchana 3 is directed by Raghava Lawrance, who also did the previous two movies. The movie stars Vedhika and Oviya along with Kovai Sarala and Manobala, who are reprising their roles from the previous movies.

While Muni had Vedhika, and Kanchana featured Raai Lakshmi, Kanchana 2 starred Tapsee Pannu and Nithya Menen.
