“In fact, both my director Ananth (Mahadevan) and I can build a rocket if we need to,” he told Deccan Chronicle.

S Nambi Narayanan is a senior official at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), he was in-charge of the cryogenics division. It is reported that in 1994, he was falsely charged with espionage and arrested but the charges were dropped by the CBI two years later, and he was declared not guilty in 1998.

The biopic will release in Tamil, Hindi and English. Madhavan had earlier announced that he would be going through a physical transformation for his role in the movie. He will play the protagonist in all stages of his life – from 25 to 75. The actor, who has to gain weight for the role, has apparently consulted Aamir Khan for tips. “The prep is taking me through different age groups, shapes and sizes… He (Aamir Khan) told me it’s better to do the heavier parts first so that that I’m compelled to lose all the weight I put on,” Madhavan told The Times of India

The actor said that they are determined to do justice to the life of the ISRO scientist as he is one of the many unsung heroes of the country who deserves to be anointed with a worthy film. “We are going into every aspect of Narayanan’s life without apology. There’s really no point in doing a biopic unless the complete truth is told,” he told Deccan Chronicle.

The actor was earlier supposed to play the lead in the film based on the life of renowned Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, however, the role finally went to Dev Patel.
