Body Found Hanging With A Note Declaring Protest Against Padmavati

A body has been found hanging at the Nahargarh Fort in Jaipur, Rajasthan along with a message inscribed on the stones : ‘Padmavati Ka Virodh’.

Meanwhile, Shri Rajput Karni Sena who has been vocal in their protest against Padmavati has condemned the violence and denied involvement in the incident.

Rajkummar Rao Wins Best Actor For Newton

Dedicating his award to his late mother, actor Rajkummar Rao was ecstatic after winning his first ever Asia Pacific Screen Award for Best Actor in Amit V Masurkar’s Newton.

“Let’s keep doing this beautiful work, let’s keep making these wonderful stories. Here’s to cinema!” he said. The award function took place in Brisbane, Australia, with the actor posting a picture of himself with his new award.

UK Gives Padmavati 12A Rating

The British Board of Film Classification has reportedly allowed the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Padmavati but the release date  is yet to be finalised. The BBFC’s decision has now been contested by a Rajput organisation in Britain.

Mahendrasinh Jadeja, president of the Rajput Samaj UK, reportedly said that he had written to the BBFC calling for it to reverse its decision because of “community” considerations. “We believe it will have great community impact,” he said.

The group wants assurance that the film will not be released until the decision is made in India. The film in the UK has been given the 12A certificate.

Meanwhile, the Karni Senas in India have declared that its members would visit the UK to contest the film’s release.

Uma Thurman Wishes Everybody A Happy Thanksgiving, Except Harvey Weinstein

Earlier this month, Kill Bill actress Uma Thurman had vowed to speak about Harvey Weinstein sometime soon. “I usually regret the way I express myself. So, I’ve been waiting to feel less angry, and when I’m ready, I’ll say what I have to say,”  she had said.

Now, with Thanksgiving taking place, she took to Instagram to wish everybody but not the Hollywood producer, who is accused of sexual misconduct and rape.

“Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! (Except you Harvey, and all your wicked conspirators – I’m glad it’s going slowly – you don’t deserve a bullet),” she wrote.

Silambarasan Served Red Notice By Producers Council

Kollywood actor Silambarasan has reportedly been served with a ‘red notice’ by the Tamil Nadu Producers Council. This notice was with respect to complaints filed against him for not turning up on shoots for his last film Anbanavan Adangadhavan Asaradhavan.

Former Congress MP V Hanumantha Rao reportedly filed a police complaint on Thursday requesting that the upcoming Sunburn festival at Gachibowli stadium, Hyderabad be cancelled it goes “against Indian culture”.

Deccan Chronicle reports that the politician, in his complaint, wrote that the festival included dance, music and cocktails to youths which would “spoil them”.
