The members of the Hindu Yuva Vahini (HYV) burnt effigies of Sanjay Leela Bhansali yesterday in protest against Padmavati. The organisation was formed by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Rallies were held across Amethi and they said protests will continue until the film is banned.

Following speculations that Nadigar Sangam General Secretary and the Tamil Film Producers Council (TFPC) President Vishal would contest in RK Nagar by-polls set to happen on December 21, the actor has confirmed his participation. Ahead of filing his nomination, he was seen paying his respect to the former chief ministers of Tamil Nadu. The actor has chosen the ‘whistle’ symbol to contest the by-election.
