Actress Kangana Ranaut will be making her debut at the red carpet of the Cannes Film Festival this year. The National Award winning star will attend the fest in association with liquor brand Grey Goose as part of its global celebration of cinematic craft – Vive Le Cinema.

“It is overwhelming to witness the recognition and appreciation for Indian cinema at international platforms like Cannes,” Kangana said in a statement to IANS.  “Grey Goose has created a unique platform of celebration to toast the game changing films at Cannes this year and I’m thrilled to partner with this global icon of luxury in the country of its origin,” she added.

Here’s a new poster of Mahanati that is bound to take you back to the 80s.

A biopic on late actress Savitri, the film has Keerthy Suresh playing the titular role while Dulquer Salmaan plays Gemini Ganesan, her co-star and husband. The film is directed by Nag Ashwin, who previously made the movie Yevade Subramanyam. Samantha Akkineni plays a journalist, while Vijay Deverakonda is likely to play a photographer accompanying her.

Apart from the leads, the cast also includes Prakash Raj as Aluri Chakrapani, Mohan Babu as SV Ranga Rao and Naga Chaitanya as Akkineni Nageswara Rao.
